Moving your animals safely: transport from the seller's gate to your farm

The deal is done and the animal is yours. The next step matters just as much: getting it home safely, on time and at a fair cost. A good transporter protects your animals and your money. A bad arrangement can mean injured animals, extra charges or a driver who never shows up.

Find your transport on the platform

Once you have bought livestock, ask for transport right from your purchase on Livestock Markets. The platform connects you with a registered transporter near the pickup point. If that driver cannot take the job, the next one is offered at no extra charge.

Every driver on the platform registers with a valid driving licence, the vehicle's insurance and a recent photo, so old or uninsured vehicles are kept off the platform. Approved drivers carry the platform's badge, and you see the driver's name, photo, vehicle and number plate before you agree anything.

Agree the price before loading

  • Tell the driver the number and type of animals, the pickup point and your destination.
  • Ask what the price includes: loading, waiting time, fuel and any permits on the road.
  • Compare the offer with the distance and the size of the vehicle. If it seems high, say so: drivers on the platform expect to agree a price with you.
  • Agree the final amount clearly before any animal is loaded, and keep it in writing: an SMS or WhatsApp message is enough.

Pay on delivery, not before

Pay the driver when the animals arrive safely at your destination and you have checked them, not before. Paying in full upfront removes your protection if something goes wrong. A genuine transporter is used to being paid on delivery.

Follow the trip live

Once the trip starts, the driver can share their live location with you from their phone. You see on a map where your animals are as they move from the seller's place to yours, so you know when to be ready to receive them and you are never left guessing.

Look after the animals on the road

  • Make sure the vehicle is clean, has a non-slip floor and is not overloaded.
  • Plan water and rest on long journeys, and avoid the hottest hours where possible.
  • Keep the movement permit and the health papers with the animals.
  • Load only animals you have seen and are satisfied with.

If a driver does not work out

If the driver you were connected with cannot do the job, choose "Did not work out" on your transport request and the next registered driver near the pickup point is offered, at no extra charge. If anything goes wrong on the road, report it from the platform so it can be acted on.

Safe transport is the last step of a good deal. Use the platform, agree a fair price, follow the trip and pay on delivery.
